This project base class is designed to take a deep dive into the intricate technique of three-dimensional knitting with bead application for three of my designs in the I Am Dragon series. In this class, we will work on a swatch and will learn how to make 3D dragon scales into an elegant and truly unique design. I will guide you through the process and will share all my tips and tricks on how to create your own Dragon knitwear. You’ll learn how to create 3D dragon scales, bead application for this design, a unique blocking technique applicable to this design, the anatomy of the tassels for this design, and get inspired by the presentation of the multiple samples in an array of fibers and colors.

Supplies Students Must Bring

Students should bring a 25 g skein of fingering-weight Merino wool yarn (recommend), pure silk, linen, or cotton; size 2 (2.75 mm) needles 24” circular needles; and approx. 10 g of size 6/0 Miyuki glass beads.

Homework
Thread 20 beads onto the yarn prior to class. Please print the I Am Dragon pattern (included) prior to class or have it open on an electronic device.
