In this workshop, students will learn how to take reference material gathered in the field and then to create larger, more-considered finished works in the studio. Students may work in oil, acrylic, watermedia or pastel. Prior to the workshop, students will be sent detailed instructions on how to gather reference material. Michael will also provide a link to a YouTube video showing how to gather material in the way of photos, pencil sketches and color studies. Day 1 of the workshop will start in the classroom, followed by a field trip to a local location to gather reference material. Day 2 will be in classroom, where participants will create finished works based on their Day 1 material.
