Description
In this workshop, students will learn how to take reference material they’ve gathered previously in the field and use it to create larger, more-considered finished works in the studio. Students may work in oil, acrylic, watermedia or pastel. Prior to the workshop, students will be sent detailed instructions on how to gather reference material. Michael will also provide a link to a YouTube video showing how to gather material in the way of photos, pencil sketches and color studies.

Students should have basic painting knowledge: how to mix color, how to handle a brush.

Homework
All students should view this YouTube video: https://youtu.be/9eTCliLNQeU. After viewing the video, you’ll need to go on location, find a scene you wish to paint larger and more finished in the studio, and then gather reference material (photos, pencil sketches, color studies) as described in the video.
