Name
Painting the Lyrical Landscape in Pastel
Date & Time
Friday, October 27, 2023, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM
Description
Soothing, warm landscape paintings have the power to bring about a positive mood or feeling of relaxation. In this workshop, after a one-hour demonstration, attendees will complete a color study and simplification exercise—with plenty of individual instruction at your easel and uninterrupted painting time. Students will learn different approaches for underpaintings, using pastel and 91% alcohol or walnut ink, and will discover how to layer soft pastels to achieve a specific look and evoke a poetic feeling in a landscape. All attendees will leave with a finished piece as well as the knowledge and confidence to create more lyrical landscapes at home.
