Description

Once you've begun using Ladderback Jacquard as the solution for long stranding, you'll find you want to incorporate it into even more of your knitting. In this class, we'll explore more advanced use cases for Ladderback Jacquard, including working with three or more colors and knitting flat, as we work the briar rose mug rug using multiple advanced techniques. We'll also dive into charting your own ideas, exploring best practices and enjoying colorwork without limitations. Whether you're tweaking existing patterns or developing your own colorwork designs, these special techniques open up even more possibilities for colorwork designs you thought you couldn't knit before.

Prerequisites
Students should already be comfortable working basic ladderback jacquard. Students who have taken the Ladderback Jacquard class in the past will be well-prepared for this class.
Supplies Students Must Bring

Approximately 30 yards of each of three colors of worsted- to aran-weight yarn in three contrasting colors. Since the Briar Rose Mug Rug design includes a rose on a plain background, you may want to your colors to include a shade of green, a shade suitable for a flower (like red, pink, yellow, or purple), and a background color that the other two will show well against (like white, gray, or any color that contrasts with the other two). Your choice of knitting needles in a compatible size (US 7/4.5mm–US 9/5.5 mm) suitable for working flat. Colored pencils, crayons, or markers.
