Description

Have you ever knit with beads? It’s fun and easy. Adding beads to any piece can make it look like a work of art. A bit of bling or a subtle shimmer can really enhance your knitting. Using the superfloss technique, we will learn to knit the Christina Hat or Cowl. We’ll also discuss the crochet hook method as well as using pre-strung beads. You’ll learn to cast on with beads and bind off using beads. This class is full of tips and tricks and includes lots of samples of projects knit with beads!

Prerequisites
Students must be able to cast on, knit, purl and work ribbing.
Supplies Students Must Bring

US Size 4 (3.5mm) 16-inch circular needle, 1 skein (approx. 220 yards) DK weight yarn, 1 skein (lace weight) mohair. Optional: small crochet hook US Size 10 or 1 mm (Amazon link)

60 – 6mm or 8mm beads (any color you like with fairly large hole, your yarn must fit through the hole when doubled)

Beads can be purchased in the Maker Festivals Marketplace, at a local bead or craft store, or online at JoAnn, Michaels, ArtBeads.com, or Fire Mountain.
