Inspired by the majestic Horseshoe Falls of Niagara Falls, the Waterfall Necklace is a showpiece that will introduce and/or further instruct students in a plethora of jewelry making techniques in a comprehensive class. Students will fabricate a metal pendant (from either aluminum, copper, or sterling silver), use a variety of tools and techniques to create free-flowing metal "waves" from either copper or sterling silver, texture specific parts of the pendant, learn a mosaic technique of applying alcohol inks in between the metal waves, and finally rivet the waves to the pendant (the copper wave with its rivets was inspired by the wooden and iron barrels daredevils would use travel in over the falls). Choose from your choice of metals and colors of alcohol inks to create a stunning pendant that becomes your own wearable piece of art.
Personal task lighting and magnification if needed. Instructor will provide all materials and tools.
