Description

Starting with a knitted, blocked swatch at least 6" square, students in this workshop will design their own sweater or other garment. Using the template provided, you’ll write a pattern to complete the piece with top-down construction. You can choose from sweater, bodice, or capelet options such as size, ease, sleeve length, and pullover/cardigan. In class, we will take body and other measurements and working through a worksheet to compile the necessary figures to complete the pattern. You’ll will leave with a one-page pattern to knit the piece you have designed, along with the reuseable template. The template can be used over and over to create garments with any yarn, in any size and with almost any stitch pattern. The template is perfect for “stash busting” projects or designing with handspun yarns and opens a world of design options for any knitter.
