Description

These stunning pieces never fail to amaze! Fragile material: leaf skeletons, shed butterfly wings, 24k gold, ephemera, etc. are held between pieces of transparent mica. Silver Clay ‘washers’ of various shapes are created to surround the mica and fragile material. These ‘sandwiches’ are cold connected with rivets. The result is a reversible pendant, with the fragile material safely encased in sheets of mica. This workshop spans skill levels. Beginners will learn many techniques to make perfectly matching metal clay shapes and how to avoid stretching and deforming. Numerous riveting techniques will be taught. Trouble shooting rivet failures will also be addressed.
